April 2006: RPA congratulates Nancy Skinner on her appointment to Board of East Bay Regional Park District to fill the seat of Jean Siri who died in February. We look forward to working with her on issues both relating to Ward One and throughout the District.

January 10, 2006: the East Bay Regional Park District voted 4-3 against putting a campground in Sibley Regional Preserve. RPA is extremely grateful to Directors Siri, Sutter, Radke and Wieskamp for understanding the negative environmental consequences of 150-person campground in the middle of a Preserve which encompasses the Caldecott Wildlife Corridor. The directors in addition voted to remove the proposal from the Land Use Plan. RPA looks forward to when EBRPD next proposes a campground, this time in an appropriate site, so that we can stand before the Board giving our encouragement and approval.
