  • January 10, 2006: the East Bay Regional Park District voted 4-3 against putting a campground in Sibley Regional Preserve. RPA is extremely grateful to Directors Siri, Sutter, Radke and Wieskamp for understanding the negative environmental consequences of 150-person campground in the middle of a Preserve which encompasses the Caldecott Wildlife Corridor. The directors in addition voted to remove the proposal from the Land Use Plan. RPA looks forward to when EBRPD next proposes a campground, this time in an appropriate site, so that we can stand before the Board giving our encouragement and approval.
